Paraty, Villa 20

There should be a separate category to describe our Villa 20, a house on a private and paradise-like beach on the outskirts of Paraty. Something that evokes cinema and those locations we swear aren’t real. In other words, something extraordinary.

This is a grand villa, and we’re not just talking about the 405,000 square meters of land, which starts at the sea and rises into the forest. Nor about the complete and incredibly helpful team, or the amazing collection religious memorabilia that fills each of the spaces with personality.

Here, every detail is meticulously thought out to make the experience truly unforgettable, from a coffee served in a memorable way to the perfectly pressed bed linen in the early moments of the day. The suites are spread across four fully equipped Villas on the property, ensuring complete privacy.

Above all, Villa 20 is an invitation to forget about the outside world and enjoy magical moments with friends or family, whether with your feet in the sand or participating in any of the many leisure activities. And the list is vast: there’s a pool, hot tub, soccer field, massage room, and much more.

The gastronomy is another chapter worth highlighting. The menu is complete and satisfies a wide variety of culinary desires, along with a great kids menu. The experience continues with meals al mare, with amazing lunches served aboard the property’s schooner – which must be rented separately. And for pizza nights, how about a team trained by one of São Paulo’s best pizzaiolos?

Finally, Paraty is about a ten-minute boat ride from this paradise, but we guarantee you won’t want to leave Villa 20, not even for a few seconds. After all, a movie-like setting that becomes reality should be enjoyed to the fullest!

Serra Fluminense, Villa 09

A stay at Villa 9, a gorgeous retreat, surrounded by the Atlantic Rainforest in the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro, feels like stepping back in time.

The setting includes a fully renovated mansion, dating back to 1750, the height of Brazil’s imperial period. Located in the Coffee Valley along the Paraíba River (in the state of Rio de Janeiro), rare artefacts can be found in every corner of the villa – such as the largest handmade rug by artisan Concessa Colasso and paintings by Debret.

The property offers a wide range of activities for all ages and interests, making it easy to forget the world outside. Highlights include a golf course, a swimming pool, and hiking trails.

Surrounded by imperial palms and impeccably maintained, the estate is also home to an award-winning cachaça which is exclusively exported, but generously shared with guests. Meals are cooked using fresh, homegrown vegetables from the villa’s garden and the talented chef prepares authentic and delicious local dishes.

Serra Fluminense, Villa 10

Villa 10 takes you back in time to Brazil’s 19th century colonial past. This grand mansion is located on a farm that was an important sugar and coffee plantation from the 1800s onwards. The estate also has the second most important historic sugar mill in Brazil. Today, the farm breeds Mangalarga Marchador horses.

Every detail of this house is impressive and it is one of the most extraordinary rural properties in Brazil. It has been impeccably renovated, both externally and internally, and tastefully decorated with period furniture, carpets, rare porcelain objects and other period pieces.

The attractions are many and follow the tranquil rhythm of farm life: a swimming pool and barbecue area for sunny days, as well as a living room with a fireplace for cozier moments. All this on a plot of land surrounded by greenery as far as the eye can see in the Rio de Janeiro region of Paty do Alferes

Sousas, Villa 23

Spending a season in our villa 23 is a special experience, the kind that transports you to another time. Located in Sousas, near Campinas, the property is an old coffee farm that has undergone an impeccable restoration.

The historic mansion has been well maintained and full of charm, but the grounds, surrounded by greenery as far as the eye can see, have been given an annex with a large leisure area and various attractions where you can literally forget about the hectic life going on outside.

All this without counting the many ways to explore the magical scenery that frames the horizon, at a slow travel pace, as a season in nature demands.

Taguaíba, Villa 21

The inspiration for the construction of this villa was a rare vinyl by Dorival Caymmi – one of Brazil’s most influential singer-songwriters – recorded in the 1950s and cherished by the owners. But the moment you step inside, it all becomes clear: this collector’s gem has inspired a home filled with Brazilian soul and an irresistibly laid-back charm.

The beachfront location is a highlight: the villa sits on a beachfront plot in one of the most secluded corners of Praia dos Pinheiros, within a gated condominium, just a few kilometres from São Paulo. With the sea as the star of the setting, every part of the house has been thoughtfully designed to frame the view. Even the gourmet kitchen flows seamlessly into the living room. The tropical landscaping embraces the scenery without blocking the ocean views, despite the lush greenery.

And the local caiçara culture shines through in many of the decorative features – with light tones, paddles hung on the walls, and other seaside elements -which retain a cosy and comfortable feel.

From the five suites to the TV room, every space is delightful. Not to mention the outdoor area: there is a swimming pool, sauna,  a pergola with hammocks, and a fire pit perfect for warm, fire-lit evenings. From beginning to end, this is the beach house of our dreams.
